Looking for Your Splendid Shelter?

Dee Bowlin grew up like any other kid in Wisconsin—ice skating on frozen ponds, sledding down snow-packed hills in the park, and riding on the back of a motorcycle to Lake Michigan for a picnic on the beach. But her childhood bliss came to an end when she had to leave her high school sweetheart and move to Oklahoma with her parents. She spent forty-five years in Oklahoma City before discovering the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia.

Dee’s memoir is the backdrop for her collection of easily understood traditional poetry and light verse, short stories, and photographs. Some of her works are silly and humorous, while others are written from the depths of her heart. She vividly recalls the life events that inspired each piece by writing across genres, weaving prose and poetry into one story.

Walk with her through a life riddled with challenges, heartache, and too much grief for one person to bear. Rejoice with her as she finds deep friendships, inspiring adventures, new love, and quiet faith while searching for Splendid Shelter.
