My Walter was born in July, and his zodiac sign is Cancer. I don’t claim to know much about astrology, and I don’t read our horoscopes every day, but I do know that the moon is Cancer’s ruling planet, and Cancerians are guided by the moon’s glow. Moon children, as they are called, light up the lives of others with their empathy and warmth, and the moon’s nurturing effect makes them protective and caring.
Whether you believe in astrology or not, the moon is a fascinating sight. We look up at the night sky in awe of its mystery and ever-changing shape and color. This blog is a sample of Walter’s moon photography. He studies the phases of the moon and checks the time of moonrise and moonset every day. He will set an alarm in the early morning hours to get photos of the moon as it’s setting or even stay up most of the night for the best moon picture.
We don’t have a fancy, super-lens camera, but with experimentation, our Olympus Stylus can take amazing photos thanks to Walter’s patience and persistence.

After Walter has captured his magical moon shots, I take over on the computer to add color and personality to create fun moons like the Blueberry Moon, Watermelon Moon, and Orange Slice Moon.
